Borrowed Church Shoes

Hiiiiiii mom!!! I love you! I got a new companion and I'm going to train him. He is brand new and his name is Elder Gomez. We have a lot in common with rubiks cubes, basketball, and music. Im excited to work with him because his testimony is strong!!   This week twas great, Elder Gomez is doing great and is always happy and amazing, great worker. He is getting used to things which is good. We had splits with the APs and I learned some new techniques with them which was good.
We got a baptism set up this Sunday with a wonderful lady named Rosa. She lives alone and has four older children. She has had a lot of hard life struggles and I hope we are bringing here some comfort and peace with the plan of salvation. She has even had thoughts about ending her life, due to her sad situation. We gave her a blessing and have been able to visit her often. She has no problem with the word of wisdom. We invited her to a relief society activity where they made jabon (soap). She really enjoyed it and the sisters were super welcoming. She came to church this past Sunday and again everyone was very nice to her. My companion sat with Rosa because I sat with the other family.
We had a small family come to church.this Sunday. The family is a dad, mom who are married, and three year old boy. The boy is very active and the parents feel a bit frustrated. When we went to their house on Sunday to walk to church with them, the dad didn't have any church shoes. I noticed we wore the same size, so I ran back home to my apartment and got an extra pair of shoes so he could borrow them. I sat with them on Sunday and tried to keep him pre-occupied with a little groot key chain on my backpack. He liked that. The family stayed and really enjoyed church. The mom is Lutheran and believes that Saturday is the Sabbath. 
Earlier this month, we were told that we had to find a new apartment to live. Our current house is going to do some fix ups so we have to move out. That has put a lot of stress on me. But good news, we get to stay in our apartment until April 1st which is a huge relief. We've been asked to find a new apartment and have asked the ward members to help us find a place. 
Today we went to an all you can eat wing place. The wings here aren't as good as back home, but still good.  We also played some Basketball and Piano with the zone today. But I bet the wings you make are better. I love you mom and the great support you give me!! I will talk to you soon Bye!!

Peace in Christ

January 2020

Haha yes that's how you say January, your Spanish is rockin it mom!! I have no idea what might happen as the next transfer but I'm not too worried. Our investigator Alvaro came to the church this Sunday and we also have a family home evening tonight with him and a member family and we gonna eat nachos. We also teaching this inactive family with two 10 year old kids a boy Alex and a girly Britney. Their aunt's name is Alma and the kids mom was murdered which is very sad. Their dad's name is Rudolfo. I've been teaching in kid style with them and bringing candy too and they also came to church with us and accepted to be baptized. I'm sorry for the pain you felt with your back, I hope everything goes better and maybe a nice massage from the whisperin asians could help. hahaha what da frick, when you said you like old men ha ha! If I'm not able to tell dad happy Birthday!! I'm sure dad is goin to love that gift mom!! I love how amazing you are with gifts! Time is going faster then before but it could go faster ha ha. But that's great the work is good for you! Ha ha yes I'm still kinda rich. I love you mom sooooo Much and am so grateful for your support. I'm grateful that you put mine name on all my clothes and am truly grateful for all the laundry you do for us kids. You are an amazing example for us kids and for others because you are filled with love and always try to feel the needs of others. I will continue praying for you so you can always have the comfort and peace for God in the moments of stress. And I'm doing the same for dad!! I love you!!

Miriam's Baptism!

January 13, 2020

The lady that gave us dinner on new years had us over again on Saturday. Her name is Miriam. She was saying she wasn't sure about her baptism date but we promised her if she prays she will receive an answer if she should or shouldn't. On Sunday we returned and she was so happy with her book of Mormon open on the table all marked in yellow, and with book of Mormon videos from youtube playing. She told us she truly felt the spirit in her heart to be baptized this next Sunday before she moves to Chihuahua. It truly was a miracle and my comp and I cried.

The night before, we went to the church to check things out. The font was very dirty and filled with about a foot of water. The water wasn't going down the drain because it was so dirty. So we took trash cans and scooped out the water and then threw it out a church window.

The next morning, on her baptism day, me and my comp got up at 4am so we could be to the church by 5am. We started the water and then slept on the floor while it filled becasue It takes about 3 hours to fill up the font. Miriam's baptism was so great, Sunday morning. Then she moved to Chihuahua, where she is going to teach the gospel to the rest of her family. 

Happy Enero!

This week was pretty awesome, the first couple of days were slow because we were opening the area but we are gettin the hang of it. The ward we have is so amazing and I love the members. We also had this Christmas stake activity that we went to that had a lot of music sung and also their was like a whole show of the Nativity scene of christ. It was great and they had real alive sheep in there haha. I been loving studyin the mini scriptures that you sent in the package, and I have been eatin the chocolate haha its great. The food that the members feed us is great and its actually raining a lot right now but we got our umbrellas. Im excited for Christmas and to talk with the family all at once. I might be able to call a little later today but we will see. My birthday is tomorrow but it doesnt feel like it, haha and its not a big deal for me its just one more year older. But I have you guys all are doing great and have an amazing christmas. Im gonna miss watching the movie its a wonderful life because the Mary in that movie is cute.

hahaha we already have a drying rack dont worry mom, today was great, we bought some food and warmer clothes because it does get a little cold here, haha andrew should go to the dance, Im sooo happy you guys got my letters i sent, thats crazy to think that our family is a flock of eagles now. This week was great with the family that sung happy birthday to me and we ate cake, we had two of our investigators come to church this sunday which was great!! haha remember when the kids played spin the bottle in the basement hahaha, me and my comp were knockin doors and this guy from the inside yells that we can come in. Once we entered he was like what the heck what you doin in here. it was a shock because he screamed to come in but I guess not. Thank you so much for the money and I will buy somethin dope down here for you guys!!

I'm doingggg great, and yes I heard plenty of gun shots on new years with a lot of music and mexicans singin loud. wowww Aiden slayin the clarks girl haha. Im sorry that dad is not feelin so well, thats awesome that Aiden wont his tournament wooohoo, thats good that you guys will get back on the grind of school and readin the scriptures. But some things that have been happening here this last week are.... We taught one of our investigators plan of salvation at the tijuana temple, and then we gave a tour there. It was super pretty to see it all in person and the lesson was great. His baptism date is set for 19th of this month and he is doin great getting rid of the cigarettes and smokin. We even put the temple as his homescreen on his phone and he came with us to church this last sunday and me and my comp gave our testimonies in the first hour. We also had a couple of great lessons with this one member named victoria which is a returned sister missionary. Also had breakfast this morning with one of the family members that invited us, it was super good pancakes. Annndd I saw a dead cat on the street the was basically road kill, it was disgustin and nobody cared to clean it up. I think mexicans just leave stuff to rot on the ground until it disapears or something but thats prolly why its smells pretty bad down here and we cant drink the water from the faucet. But its whatver haha. I love you guys and I will continue to put you guys in my prayers especially for dad and his anxiety. Have an amazing week you guys and I love you Mom!!!

New transfers

We find out on saturday if we transfer and Im super excited and dont know what to expect. Thank you so much for sending the Christmas a b-day package. Im very excited for that as well. The two boys are named Joel and Neo that are getting baptized. Its set on december 23 but Neo isnt sure because his step parents arent sure. But Joel is set an stone and joined us at church this last sunday. Church was great yesterday also, I had a great time at sacrament meeting and felt the spirit very strong. And we saw the christmas devocional with great music. Thats crazy one of the 12 apostle visited!! haha and of course dad was security, how dope!! haha Aiden better not wash his hand after shaking one of the apostle. And front row seats wooohoo. Thats sound super fun that you had a good time playing ping pong at the Hansens. Kaylee is gonna be a pro at eye lashes, and it could totally be her career. David Murray comes home woohoo. And Im excited for this christmas season also. Best time of the year. This last week I directed the whole area and lessons and it was hard but I learned many good lessons out of it. Cause with every challenge their is a lesson learned. I can talk to you later today on google chats but until then I love you Mom!!! Tell the family I love them too, Andrew, Kaylee, Aiden, Dad! A Pound of Fat

The Christmas party should be super fun with the family. The primary program here was also so cute with all the kids. And the pictures you sent I loved of them cutting the bishopric ties. Ya I'm not too excited for thanksgiving haha. That's good that Aiden is getting into more activities like wrestling. I remember I did not like wrestling at all with Andrew haha it just wasn't my thing but Theatre definitely was. I love da spotlight haha. I'm doing very great actually, I memorized a lot of lessons in Spanish recently which I'm getting more confident with my Spanish. The week was great and we had 4 of our investigators come to church which was awesome!! We have this one lady baptism named Yanira set for the 30th of this month which should be great. My companion is great and pushes me to do more which is good cause It will help me in the future as a missionary. My progress is going way better with everything. I receive the package tomorrow from other elders but ya I'm very excited and thanked grandma a lot in an email. Ya and it gets dark here also pretty early too but its better than being super hawt in the day. I'm way used to the weather. We ate tacos today with like 8 other elders at one of there houses and just talked. It was very relaxing and great cause it was one of the elder's birthdays that we sang to. Time is going by fast cause the Holidays are already coming up. I completed 3 months and my comp completed one year on the same day. We ate tacos on that day too and I still haven't grown a pound of fat... yet. But ya I love you mom(Kim)!!

First Baptism!

This week was a little slow but it's ok haha. I don't know if I'm going to stay with my comp another transfer but we will see, we get along pretty well most of the time. Only sometimes in the morning, we fight cause its the morning and we are grumpy and sometimes hungry haha. It sounds like you are in the same situation as me with working. Its a lot and we both need some growing into it but we will get there. The pictures looked super cute of you guys at Glenwood springs haha and the ones on the chair lift. I'm gonna buy this sweet deal for a guitar prolly next week with a guitar, strap, bag, and guitar pics. I hope you guys have another great week with Haloween and Trunk or treat coming up soon. Ya its good Kaylee wants to go to Idaho cause I want to hang with here their too haha. It's weird that you guys got snow cause its soo hawwt here haha. The party with the Skids sounds great and that you caught up with them. Ya I'm now hearing back and emailing Spencer and Campbell. Campbell has to learn a new language which is crazy. My Spanish I can tell is improving every day. This week was Eduardo's baptism! It was sweet and they had a hotdog bar with bacon and this cool soda fountain. This week was fast but slow, haha we didn't get paid today but tomorrow so it's like a fast Monday today haha. We go back to Tijuana for a training thing for a day on Thursday. I will let you know next week if I transferred and also if I get the package. Thanks for all the work you put into it and talking with Nathan. I love you mom and all you have and still do for our family.
